Secretary of Belarusian CEC unearthed “the roots of European moronity“

CEC secretary Nikolai Lozovik on July 11 at a press conference in Minsk suggested where are "the roots European moronity".

Lozovik said that some documents on the nomination of representatives to the district election commissions, which was filed by the opposition parties, contained mistakes. In particular, one of the BPF documents didn't give even a name of the person who was nominated to the commissions.

CEC secretary connected errors in the documents with a list of Belarusians on whom the EU imposed visa sanctions. "European officials also made mistakes there, they included pensioners, a dead man. It comes from our professional oppositionists who make mistakes, even in documents", Lozovik concluded.

Half a year ago the EU had to adjust the initial list of Belarusian officials subject to EU sanctions. The list, in particular, included former chairman of the Vitebsk region election commission Michael Pischulenok, who died in August 2008. In addition, the name of one of the official, judge of the Central district of Minsk - Yasinovich / Yasenovich - was cited in the EU Council list twice in different transcription.
