Euroradio

European Commission's vice president Catherine Ashton reckons that the relations between Belarus and the European Union has regressed recently in the light of the conflict between Poland and Belarus over the arrests of the Polish ethnic minority activists.

Lutz Gellner, a representative of the European Commission's vice president, expressed hope in his statement that Belarus would observe the rights of ethnic minorities under the OSCE obligations.

Mr Gellner called on the authorities in Belarus to carry out democratic reforms in order to take a full use of EU's neighborhood policy.
