The Belarus president on Thursday attended a ceremony to award the prize For Spiritual Revival and other special prizes to Belarusian intellectuals.
The head of state quoted famous Belarusian writer Uladzimir Karatkevich: "Every man carries his own sky with him". "That is why, despite the fact that not everything is ideal, I would like you to take time before accusing the government of it all," BELTA quotes Alyaksandr Lukashenka as saying. "The government and the authorities are responsible for the country."
Lukashenka also mentioned the problem of denoting the national idea of Belarus. "It is time to denote something that will become the Belarusian idea that will unite all citizens, an idea that everyone, including peasants and academicians, will believe in," he noted. Alyaksandr Lukashenka recalled Polatsk and Turau Principalities, Francysk Skaryna and Mikołaj Hussowczyk, Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas.
