The gathering of participants is scheduled for 6 p.m., at the site near the ‘October’ cinema.

Then the procession will follow Niezalezhnasci Avenue and Surhanava Street to the People’s Friendship Park, where a meeting will take place from 7.30 to 8, BelaPAN reports.

Initially the organizational committee asked the city executive committee to allow a procession from the Academy of Sciences presidium building and a meeting at Niezalezhnasci Square, but the authorities suggested that the organizers thought it over and re-applied for another rout and meeting site.

“We have just received a response from Minsk authorities to our appeal, it has been fully satisfied according to the stated rout of the procession and the meeting site”, - BPF party’s chairman Aliaksiej Janukievich informed.

The Freedom Day celebration this year will go under the theme of solidarity with Ukraine and condemnation of Russian aggression against our southern neighbors. The action will start with the singing of the Vajacki marh anthem of the BPR.

This year 96 years turn since the day of the announcement of the Belarusian People’s Republic. Officially this day is not celebrated in the country, but representatives of democratic community celebrate it annually as a Freedom Day. The Independence of the BPR was announced at night on 25 March 1918 in Minsk. For the first time the idea of the creation of the BPR was voiced at the all-nation gathering in 1917.
