There is an operating nuclear reactor at the National University for Nuclear Energy and Industry in Sevastopol.
Representative of the President’s Administration Andrey Senchenko announced it. The reactor is considered to be Ukrainian and it was guarded by a special unit of the interior troops. Senchanka called the seizure of the nuclear reactor a global incident, UNIAN reports.
The Ukrainian authorities will have to get IAEA experts involved and ask the IAEA to guard the object because Ukraine is responsible for it but cannot fulfill its duties on the occupied territory.
