The initiative has been proposed by local civil activists. Officials claim that they know nothing about it.
The information about a base for Ukrainian refugees appeared in social networks, BelaPAN reports. Volunteers were collecting furniture, clothes, household appliances and food – everything that ‘people would need to lead a normal life’. The base had to be created in the village of Kasakouka, Zhlobin District. An inhabitant of Zhlobin rented the building of a former school there. He was going to accommodate up to 100 people there and help them look for jobs.
However, the local authorities know nothing about the initiative. The volunteers have not consulted the District Executive Committee. According to the rural council, it is impossible to live in the building of the former school.
