A Belarusian-Russian company called beCloud plans to launch a Long Term Evolution (LTE) network in Minsk in 2015, Director General Syarhey Pablahuyew told reporters on Thursday.

He said that the development of the 4G mobile data service was going "according to plan."

The company has already built a core network spanning 40 cities, which will be key to its reliable operation, according to the executive.

The state-owned National Center for Traffic Exchange was said to hold a 51-percent stake in the operator in late 2012.

In December 2012, the Belarusian government announced that Russian billionaire Konstantin Nikolayev would invest in the project.
