About 140 Belarusian citizens are taking part in the battles in Ukrainian Donets Basin, the newspaper SB. Belarus Today quotes the MIA chief department for organized crime and corruption prevention. Eight Belarusians have already been killed.

16 case papers as regards the actions of 24 people have already been sent to the Investigation Committee and the Belarusian Prosecutor General's Office. The police are preparing 9 cases for 11 Belarusian citizens including one deceased person now.

Criminal cases can be started against hirelings and volunteers in Belarus.

There are Belarusians struggling on both sides in Donets Basin – members of the Anti-Terrorist Operation and of the so-called ‘DPR’ and ‘LPR’. However, the Belarusians supporting official Kiev are posing the biggest threat to the national security, MIA representatives told SB. Belarus Today. “Most of them are young criminals sticking to radical neo-Nazi views. They support the idea of overthrowing the government by means of violence and openly oppose to law-enforcement agencies,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted.
