Belarusian wrestler Javid Hamzatau wins bronze medal at Rio Olympics

Belarusian Greco-Roman wrestler Javid Hamzatau has won the bronze medal in the in the 84 kg division at the Olympic Games in Rio. He defeated Bulgarian Nikolai Bairakov in third place playoff – 4:1.

Hamzatau did not manage to make in to the final. He lost to Ukrainian Jan Belenyuk in the semifinal – 0:6.

Javid Hamzatau is 26 years old. He was born in Dagestan and moved to Belarus in 2006. He is an international master of sports and a Greco-Roman wrestler. He won a bronze medal at the world championship on 2013. Hamzatau is a law student in BSU.

The Belarusian Olympic team has won a gold medal, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals in Rio so far.
