Every year about 150,000 foreigners come to Belarus for medical services, First Deputy Health Minister Dmitry Pinevich told BelTA on 25 May. Their flow is rather stable, which indicates the quality of medical care, according to the official.

“On average, our hospitals facilities treat 150,000 foreign patients,” Pinevich said. “Most of them use the services of the republican scientific and practical centers, of hospitals in Minsk and other regional centers.”

Belarusian technologies in oncology, cardiology, transplantology, and cellular technologies are in high demand among foreigners.

The official added that there are a lot of VIP patients in the waiting list in cardiology and oncology.

According to the First Deputy Minister, Belarusian medical school has produced a generation of highly qualified specialists who passed internships in many European centers.

Hence, the breakthrough technologies used by Belarusian specialists attract foreign patients.

He also stated that Belarus is a leader in the export of educational medical services and many foreign specialists are eager to visit Belarus to gain more professional experience.
