Strange animal shot by hunters in Kobryn District

The strange animal was killed by hunters near the village of Habovichy, Kobryn District in December 2017. It was indentified with the help of a DNA test conducted by the State Legal Expertise Committee in Minsk. The international DNA database was used for the identification. It is neither a wolf nor a fox. It is a golden jackal. This is a new (82nd) species on the list of Belarus’ mammals, SB. Belarus Today reports.
