Uladzimir Arlou gets Jerzy Giedroyc Literary Award

Uladzimir Arlou has received Jerzy Giedroyc Literary Award for his collection of stories Dances Above The City. The prize was €5000.

Algerd Baharevich with his 900-page book Europe’s Dogs took the second position. Vintses Murou and his collection of stories Murderer of Angels was in the third place.

The short list also included Adam Globus with his Family, Anka Upala’s To The Snow-Covered Island and Pavel Sevyarynets’ Belarusalem.

Jerzy Giedroyc Literary Award has been awarded in Belarus since 2012. Pavel Kastsyukevich, Uladzimir Nyaklyayeu, Ihar Babkou, Victar Kazko, Maks Shchur and Zmitser Bartosik recived the award in the past.
