Minister of Information Alyaksandr Karlyukevich has authorized the broadcasting of the Ukrainian TV channel UA.TV and Kazakh channels КazakhTV and Khabar 24 on January 24. The resolution has been signed, the press service of the Ministry of Information wrote on Twitter.
The broadcasting will be launched one of these days, Ukrainian Ambassador Igor Kizim told Euroradio on Tuesday. The launch was delayed due to the change of the operator, he explained.
The idea to broadcast the channel in Belarus appeared in December 2014. Alyaksandr Lukashenka and Petro Poroshenko agreed to create a joint Belarusian-Ukrainian TV channel at first (see the video). Then it was decided to broadcast one of the Ukrainian channels in Belarus. Lukashenka and Poroshenko made the final decision as regards the project in Homel the autumn of 2018. The Ukrainian channel will be broadcast in Belarusian cable networks, Kizim noted.
