Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka Breaks Into Top 10 Of WTA Rankings
Aryna Sabalenka remained her position of the world number ten with 3,520 points in the recently published WTA rankings.

The 20-year-old has climbed as high in the WTA Ranking as World No 10, having enjoyed steady upwards progress throughout her career.

In 2018, she was named the WTA newcomer and breakthrough and said that she needs to remain aggressive on court to find more success.

Aryna started 2019 with a bang, winning in Shenzhen. Since then, she has proven her quality claiming the Sunshine Double of Miami and Indian Wells.

“It’s like I’m two different people. On court, I can’t laugh all the time. I need to be focused and serious to show my best and play my best game.

Off the court, I try to smile and relax and be like a normal person! Not like a crazy girl,” she said in an interview to wtatennis.com.

Belarus’ Aliaksandra Sasnovich is 35th with 1,495 points, Victoria Azarenka goes 61st with 1,001 points, Vera Lapko is 70th with 803 points.

Australia and Belarus are incredibly difficult to separate when it comes to the talent in their squads. Both teams boast top-10 singles players in Ash Barty and Aryna Sabalenka.

Both possess Grand Slam singles champions in Sam Stosur and Victoria Azarenka. Daria Gavrilova and Aliaksandra Sasnovich are similarly-ranked.

Priscilla Hon and Vera Lapko have begun playing more regularly at WTA level. Belarusian captain Tatiana Poutchek notes that her team “is the strongest that we have for a while”.
