Waiting in long queues to buy tickets at railway stations will now be a thing of the past, as Belarusian Railway mobile app for buying unreserved tickets online is available nationwide from 2 December.

The railways launched БЧ. Мой поезд app for its passengers to conveniently and quickly purchase tickets at any time with no additional fees. It’s free and suitable both for Android and iOS gadgets.

The app has an English version, look for it in App Store or Google Market by typing My Train, still can’t find it? Ask your Russian or Belarusian speaking friends to help you out. Don’t have such? It’s high time to use our guide to make some.

The app is synchronized with the rw.by website, meaning one can check a schedule, use a passenger guide or take a look at an electronic display board (for Minsk Pasažyrski and Brest-Tsentralny stations only).

“In October-November, we tested the application and made sure that the system works correctly,” says Denis Tonkonog, the deputy head of the passenger service.

The current procedure of buying a ticket on the website looks that way: a person selects one ticket, pays for it, and only then proceeds to pay for another one. The app will allow buying several travel documents at a time.

There’s another good news for those preferring to buy railway tickets online – there are no longer commission charges for issuing e-tickets (unless a passenger prints a ticket at a ticket office).

Earlier it was 24 kopecks for trains around Belarus and 78 kopecks to other countries. Another application you might find helpful when in Belarus’ capital is Toilets of Minsk, check it out.
