The number has been mentioned by the head of the prevention department of the Chief department for keeping law and order Raman Melnik. About 30 thousand crimes are committed in a state of intoxication every year in Belarus.
Melnik: "Speaking about the last year (2009) we had to state that almost 270 thousand people were subjected to administrative responsibility for violating the anti-alcohol law which resulted in drinking in public places – in streets, parks and squares of cities".
More than 180 thousand Belarusians are registered in narcological dispensaries.
