Euroradio

The organizers of the traditional opposition rally Chernobyl March have met with the police and ideology authorities at the Minsk City Council. Vital Rymasheuski told Euroradio that police would use metal detectors in order to prevent demonstrators from bringing explosives, vodka, etc.

The police also said that sound amplifiers would not be permitted near the Academy of Sciences where the opposition wants to start the rally.

The organizers said they would lead the demonstration only the Chernobyl Chapel, not the Bangalore Square. They are expected to lay flowers and lit candles for the victims of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. The route has been approved by the city authorities.
