Police fingerprinted 1 million 740 thousand Belarusians

According to the police, from 50 to 100 matches of finger-prints are revealed during the investigation of crimes committed in previous years every week.

1 million 740 thousand Belarusians have already gone through the obligatory procedure of finger-printing. 450 thousand Belarusians liable for call-up still have to be finger-printed.

According to the information department of Brest police, they reveal from 50 to 100 matches of finger-prints in the created data base when they investigate crimes committed in previous years every week. At the moment criminalists have found more than 7 thousand matches. 63 of them were involved in murders, 106 – in severe physical injuries, 304 – in robberies and about 6 thousands – in thefts.

Let us remind you that finger-printing was made obligatory for all men aged from 18 to 55 on April 21 this year. 2 million 200 thousand people are expected to go through it. Meanwhile, the finger-printing campaign started after the explosion in Minsk in 2008.
