Goods and cash worth more than 36 million rubels was stolen from the TsUM department store in Minsk on the night between April 2 and 3.
A television report said that expensive cameras, optical equipment and jewelry had been stolen from the large store.
The police said on Monday that a man suspected of the theft had already been arrested.
When reached by BelaPAN, Alyaksandr Lastowski, spokesman for the Minsk city police department, declined to provide any other details of the incident and investigation.
