Lukashenka wants Turkmenbashi's plane

A VIP plane of late Turkmenbashi will be bought in Turkmenistan for Lukashenka.

As charter97.org has learned, Belarus is negotiating with Turkmenistan to buy Boeing 767-300 plane with General Electric CF6-80C engine. The cost of the second hand jet for the dictator remains unknown.

The VIP plane was bought in 2005 at $130 million specially for president of Turkmenistan Saparmurat Niyazov. The passenger cabin layout was made by L-3 Integrated Systems Group Waco Texas US.

According to a source, air and maintenance personnel of Belavia national air company has almost completed a training course to fly and maintain the new aircraft, but a question of storing the plane remains open. The hangars that are being constructed near the Belavia aircraft maintenance base are expected to be set on operation in spring 2012. They are supposed to be used only for storing government aircrafts.

We remind that the government aircraft fleet consists of five planes: TU-154M EW-85815, YAK-40 EW-88187, Boeing 737-800/BBJ2 EW-001PA, Bombardier Challenger 850 EW-301PJ and helicopter MI-8 EW-25049.

Photos on the company’s website can give a rough idea of VIP cabin layout designed by L-3 Integrated Systems:
