A mansion in the village of Kraski in the Vaukavysk district in western Belarus has been sold on auction for Br307 million ($107,000). The palace was bought by a businessman from Russia who plans to live in Belarus, reports Vecherny Grodno newspaper.

The previous attempts to sell the mansion on auction for Br2 billion to two Russian and one Belarusian companies failed due to the high starting price.

The new owner has been given two years to reconstruct the mansion. He plans to start construction works in spring and is going to clean up a nearby park in the first place.

Another mansion in the Vaukavysk district will be put on auction soon on one condition: a new owner will have to build an agro-tourism complex in the new property.
