Catholics donate organs in Homel

Еврорадио

An unprecedented action has been organized in a local Catholic church.

Believers are signing written agreements to donate their organs for transplantation after death. They are filling in special cards that they will always carry on them, Interfax-West reports.

Doctors are glad to see believers’ support. However, the agreements have no legal power as doctors can use people’s organs without any agreement. Those who do not want their organs to be used for transplantation have to write a statement. About 50 people have already officially refused to be donors in Belarus.
