A 26-year-old Polatsk resident was heading for a supermarket with his girlfriend but was jailed on November 17, Vitsebsk Peoples News reports.

Vadzim Kazlouski noticed a police car in a disabled parking place near the shop Pyatyi Element. He politely asked the officer to park somewhere else as there were enough parking places nearby. The policeman replied: Am I in your way? No? Then go away!

The man started asking the policeman to show his ID. The latter asked Vadzim to show his passport but he had left it at home. He does not have to introduce himself because he could not be sure that the man is a Belarusian citizen, the policeman replied. The law allowed him to park where he likes, he added.

Kazlouski photographed the car and told the policeman that he would upload it to the Internet. Kazlouski was ordered to get in the car and was brought to a detention centre for identification. The policeman did not introduce himself,

Vadzim spent 30 minutes in the police office. Then he was asked to leave. Nobody apologized to him.

Kazlouski and his girlfriend did not manage to do shopping on that day.
